There are many aspects of healing and surely only God knows them all. He has a perfect plan for each of us and the more we seek to follow the Lord's direction, the healthier and more successful we will be in everything we do. Sometimes there are hidden obstacles to our healing that can be removed once we recognize them.
1. We must desire to be healed. It may be hard to believe, but there are people who have become comfortable with their sickness or prefer the benefits they get from being sick, and do not want to be healed. Jesus said to the man who had an infirmity for thirty-eight years: “Do you want to be made well?”
2. Unconfessed sin gives the enemy the right to keep us sick. We need to ask the Lord to show us if we have any unforgiven sins, and then sincerely repent by asking for forgiveness and stop sinning.
3. Occult practices have the same effect. Astrology and horoscopes, reading palms and coffee grounds, charms, white witchcraft and spells (all witchcraft is evil), yoga (all yoga is evil, there is no such thing as Christian yoga), homeopathic treatments, reflexology, acupuncture, and any type of alternative medicine therapy that claims to treat the spirit, also has demonic roots, and blocks the healing process. Likewise, personal involvement or a close person's involvement in satanic worship, Freemasonry, New Age organizations, etc., must be resolved. In order to cancel their destructive effects, whoever knows that they have practiced or resorted to such practices must admit that they have sinned, ask God for forgiveness and refrain from repeating them in the future. Suggested prayer: Lord God I want to love and serve You and only You. If in my life or in my family there is a curse from belonging to New Age, Freemasonry, occult practices, (whatever applies) ____ please forgive me and deliver me from it and break the evil power over my life so that I can live cleanly for You, in the Name of Jesus I pray, amen.
4. Generational curses and curses of any kind, which can be: hereditary diseases from which several generations suffer, predisposition to accidents, multiple pregnancy losses, financial shortages that are not the result of laziness or irresponsible spending, curses proclaimed by parents, relatives, teachers or someone close to you (for example: you will never amount to anything, you are a loser, I wish you have never been born, etc.) and so on. These curses must be broken in the Name of Jesus, so that the sick person can be healed and stay healed. The curse is like a shadow of the past that hangs over someone, causing frustration, suffering and even despair. The good news is that God is greater than any demonic power and wants us free. Suggested prayer: Dear Lord, please forgive me for all my sins and I thank You for delivering me from all evil through the sacrifice of Your Son. I thank You Lord Jesus that You were made a curse on the cross, so that I may be freed from any curse that has been placed on my life or passed down to me from my mother or father's family. Based on what Jesus did on the cross, I am free in His holy Name from the power of every curse that was placed on me and my family, and I proclaim the blessings that Jesus won for me through His shed blood on the cross. Thank You my Lord, amen.
4. Doubt overcomes faith for healing when we focus on what we feel and not on the biblical truth. For a firm faith, we need to continually focus on the truth that Jesus has already done everything for our healing when He bore all our sicknesses, pains, and sufferings on the cross.
5. We fail to see ourselves healed, resulting in our words declaring sickness and death upon us, and not life. Our words have creative power, and it is important to be careful of what we say. By what we think and say, we can make ourselves sad or happy, encouraged or discouraged. Hope also helps us grow in faith that we will receive what we ask for. This is why it is so important to see ourselves healed and able to do what we cannot do at the moment, so that we continue to have faith that we will be healed until we enter into possession of our healing.
6. If the disease is caused or associated with evil spirits, the demonic powers that caused the disease must first be cast out. The most common are spirits of infirmity, paralysis, pain, and death. How to get free: “spirit of (name it) ____ depart from my body in the Name of Jesus Christ. Jesus already healed me by His sacrifice on the cross and I proclaim the protection of His blood over my body and over my life against all evil. In Jesus I am free from every infirmity and every sickness. All infirmity and sickness must go, in the Name of Jesus.”
6. The presence of the spirit of death is indicated by the acceptance of the progressively worsening state of weakness and helplessness that leads to the death of the person, if the situation is not corrected. There is something morbid about a person that has such a dark and negative opinion of themselves. Repeating statements like “I wish I was dead” open the door to the spirit of death, unless the person repents and breaks the power of the words of death they have spoken. Negative people must choose to replace negative statements with positive ones from God's Word.
7. Unforgiveness, discontentment, frustration, and the root of bitterness. Forgiveness is a decision, not an emotion. Any unresolved unforgiveness, even if justified, produces bitterness, which can be the source of sickness, or prevent healing from being received. We must forgive those who have wronged us, because this is God's will, and because unforgiveness is harmful to us. Any root of bitterness, resentment, discontentment, discouragement, or unforgiveness can be obstacles to healing. Even if we are justifiably upset and that person has wronged us greatly and perhaps even done something irreparable to us, the Lord says we must forgive in order to be forgiven by our heavenly Father. Our forgiveness does not absolve the person who wronged us of their sin, but it does absolve us. We all have moments of discouragement, frustration, and dissatisfaction, and if we don't fight these feelings we can end up with depression and other health problems (“A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.” - Proverbs 17:22). Let's choose as often as possible to be thankful and grateful to our Lord regardless of what we are going through, to give Him the cause of our pain and to think about what pleases Him, even if we have to force ourselves. Only in this way can we have blessed lives and conquer any suffering.
We cannot know everything about healing, but if we know and love Jesus, we fervently seek to not think according to the world we live in, but we renew our minds through the Word of God, then we will be able to live healthier lives by resisting pain or sickness when symptoms first appear, in the Name of Jesus.

It may be hard to believe, but there are people who have become comfortable with their sickness or prefer the benefits they get from being sick, and do not want to be healed. Jesus said to the man who had an infirmity for thirty-eight years: “Do you want to be made well?”
- John 5:6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”
2. Unconfessed sin gives the enemy the right to keep us sick. We need to ask the Lord to show us if we have any unforgiven sins, and then sincerely repent by asking for forgiveness and stop sinning.
- John 5:14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”
- Exodus 23:25-26 “So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.”
4. Doubt overcomes faith for healing when we focus on what we feel and not on the biblical truth. For a firm faith, we need to continually focus on the truth that Jesus has already done everything for our healing when He bore all our sicknesses, pains, and sufferings on the cross.
- Mark 11:22-24 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”

- Proverbs 18:21a Death and life are in the power of the tongue...

- Luke 13:11-13 And there was a woman possessed for eighteen years by a spirit of impotence; she was hunchbacked and could not straighten her back in any way. When Jesus saw her, he called her and said: “Woman, you are loosed by your weakness.” He spread his hands over her: immediately she straightened up and glorified God.

- Psalms 118:17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.
7. Unforgiveness, discontentment, frustration, and the root of bitterness. Forgiveness is a decision, not an emotion. - Mark 11:25-26 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
- Hebrews 12:15 Take heed that no man depart from the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness spring up, and bring you trouble, and many be defiled by it.
We cannot know everything about healing, but if we know and love Jesus, we fervently seek to not think according to the world we live in, but we renew our minds through the Word of God, then we will be able to live healthier lives by resisting pain or sickness when symptoms first appear, in the Name of Jesus.
