In the New Testament, not only do we find the sick being healed, but also the dead being resurrected. When the apostles prayed in the Name of Jesus, the dead were raised, just as Jesus raised the dead during His time of ministry. And He still does the same today.
1. Jesus Raises the Son of the Widow of Nain.
The dead young man's mother was a widow and had no other children. In those days, life was hard for women who had no husband or children to support them. Jesus had compassion on her and resurrected her son, commanding him to get up. Whatever the cause of his death, Jesus not only resurrected him, but also healed him, which enabled him to be able to support his mother. God cares about the sufferings and problems we have and helps us. Glory to God!
2. The Resurrection of Jairus’ Daughter (Matthew 9:18b-19,23-26, Mark 5:22-24,35-42, Luke 8:41-42a,49-55).
The leader of the synagogue was sure that if Jesus would lay hands on his sick and dying daughter, she would be healed. The father's faith was firm, and the Lord did what he asked. It is noteworthy that when they learned of the little girl dying, Jesus said to the father, “Do not be afraid; only believe'” (Mark 5:36) and the father’s faith did not waver. To reap the fruits of our faith we must believe to the end. Jesus actually told him not to give into fear and despair, but to keep believing. Arriving at Jairus' house, Jesus was not influenced by those who were mourning and mocking Him when He said that “the child is not dead, but sleeping.” On the contrary, He expelled the doubters from the daughter’s room allowing only those of faith. The doubtful opinions of those around us, can hinder us from keeping our faith firm until we receive our healing. Jesus did what the little girl's father asked of him: “Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, […] ‘Little girl, I say to you, arise.’” (Mark 5:41). Once He touched her hand, the healing anointing of the Holy Spirit from Jesus was transferred to the daughter’s body and “her spirit returned to her, and she arose immediately.” Not only was she resurrected, but Jesus “commanded that she be given something to eat,” proving that she was perfectly healthy. It was a complete miracle that resulted from the steadfast faith of a loving father. Thank God!
3. The Resurrection of Lazarus.
When Jesus learned of His friend's sickness, He said that it was “not unto death” but allowed for the glory of God, because He knew that through Lazarus’ resurrection, God would be glorified. This is why Jesus did not leave for Bethany until Lazarus had truly passed. The Lord loved Lazarus and his sisters very much, and He wept with Mary and Martha, even though He knew that their brother was going to be resurrected. Jesus knew of His Father’s plan from the beginning, to use the resurrection of Lazarus to help many Jews believe that Jesus was the Messiah. Jesus thanked His Father for always listening to Him, and so should we. When Jesus called out, “Lazarus, come forth!” not only was there the miracle of his resurrection, but also that Lazarus arose with his whole body still tightly wrapped in strips of linen and came to where Jesus was. The Lord ordered those nearby to loosen Lazarus. It is hard to imagine that there were people who witnessed these miracles with their own eyes and still did not believe in Jesus. How hard such hearts must have been!
4. Tabitha was Restored to Life.
God miraculously intervened to bring His daughter, Tabitha back to life. He used her resurrection to cause many to believe in Jesus and strengthen the faith of Christians. When Peter arrived, he removed everyone so that there would be no one who doubted the resurrection of Tabitha and possibly cause him to have any trace of doubt. Perhaps Peter did not know how much he would have to fight in prayer and preferred to be totally alone with the Lord. After praying and probably receiving confirmation in his spirit, that Tabitha's spirit had returned to her body, he told her to get up! Tabitha opened her eyes and did not seem to have been surprised that she saw Peter and not her sisters in Christ. Her resurrection caused many to turn to the Lord. It does not matter how the miracles of resurrection or healing occur, as long as they lead to the spiritual awakening of those who learn of them. Praise God!
5. The Resurrection of Eutychus.
Eutychus died as he fell from the third floor. The young man was asleep and did not have time to react in any way to protect himself and minimize the effects of the fall. We cannot imagine the devastating effects if Eutychus may not been resurrected because Paul had taught so late into the night. Many of those present might have blamed themselves for his death. First of all, Paul might have had remorse, considering himself guilty of talking too much, or the leaders of the local church, because they did not intervene to shorten Paul's time, or those next to the young man, because they did not realize that he had fallen asleep, and they didn't wake him up or catch him before he fell, and the list could go on. And the impact on the city, because people could say: How can you follow God when He lets you die while listening to His Word? But the Lord used Paul to bring Eutychus back to life. The apostle calmed them all by saying “his life (spirit) is in Him,” that is, he had not yet left the body, which meant that the Lord was bringing him back to life. And so it happened, and what could have been a tragedy became a reason for great joy. Thank God!
1. Jesus Raises the Son of the Widow of Nain.
- Luke 7:12-15 And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her. When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.” Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.

2. The Resurrection of Jairus’ Daughter (Matthew 9:18b-19,23-26, Mark 5:22-24,35-42, Luke 8:41-42a,49-55).
- Matthew 9:18b-19,23-26 A ruler came and worshiped Him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live.” So Jesus arose and followed him, and so did His disciples. [...] When Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, He said to them, “Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him. But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose. And the report of this went out into all that land.
- Mark 5:22-24a,35-42 And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet and begged Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.” So Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him and thronged Him. [...] While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James. Then He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and saw a tumult and those who wept and wailed loudly. When He came in, He said to them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement.
- Luke 8:55 Then her spirit returned, and she arose immediately. And He commanded that she be given something to eat.

3. The Resurrection of Lazarus.
- John 11:39-44 Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, “Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.” Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.” Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”

4. Tabitha was Restored to Life.
- Acts 9:40-42 But Peter put them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up. Then he gave her his hand and lifted her up; and when he had called the saints and widows, he presented her alive. And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed on the Lord.

When Peter arrived, he removed everyone so that there would be no one who doubted the resurrection of Tabitha and possibly cause him to have any trace of doubt. 5. The Resurrection of Eutychus.
- Acts 20:9-12 And in a window sat a certain young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep. He was overcome by sleep; and as Paul continued speaking, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead. But Paul went down, fell on him, and embracing him said, “Do not trouble yourselves, for his life is in him.” Now when he had come up, had broken bread and eaten, […]. And they brought the young man in alive, and they were not a little comforted.
